ABOUT THE BLUEPRINT FOR GENDER EQUALITY LEADERSHIP IN THE CANADIAN PRIVATE SECTOR

This website was created based on the documents titled Blueprint for Gender Equality Leadership in the Canadian Private Sector, and Maturity Model by Global Compact Network Canada, co-authored by: Ayman Chowdhury, Sandra Espinosa, and Brittany Gataveckas.

In this Privacy Policy (the “Policy”), Global Compact Network Canada , with offices at Brookfield Place, 181 Bay Street, Suite 2100, Bay/Wellington Tower, Toronto, Ontario (“GCNC”, “we” or “us“), describes how we collect, use, disclose, and otherwise process the Personal Information of individuals who access and use the Blueprint for Gender Equality Leadership in the Canadian Private Sector website (referred to herein as “Blueprint site”). The term “Personal Information” means information about an identified or identifiable individual.

Your privacy while you browse our site is extremely important to us. We are the controller of the Blueprint site and are responsible for your information when you visit the Blueprint site.

It is important that you, the visitor, read this Policy and the Terms of Use, as well as any other privacy notice published on the Blueprint site with regards to the collection of your Personal Information so that you are aware of our use of this data.

This Policy applies exclusively to all Blueprint site pages within the unglobalcompact.ca domain. This Policy does not apply to the overall unglobalcompact.ca domain other than the Blueprint site pages. By visiting the pages within the Blueprint site, you accept the conditions laid out in this Policy, including those pages that require creating an account to log-in. If you do not consent to us processing your information as described in this Policy, please do not visit the Blueprint site.


WHAT INFORMATION DOES THE BLUEPRINT SITE COLLECT?

Website usage information

You may browse the Blueprint site without providing us with your contact information. The information we do gather are browsing data from standard server logs, which include your IP (Internet Protocol) address, domain name, browser type, operating system, the website that referred you to us, any files you may have downloaded from the Blueprint site, the pages you visited, and when you visited them, among others.

Collection of personally identifiable information

In some cases, you will be asked to provide business contact information such as your name, e-mail address, job title, role, and company. The materials available for download on the Blueprint site will include a PDF version of the Blueprint for Gender Equality Leadership in the Canadian Private Sector and the Maturity Model. This information will always be collected with your knowledge and permission, and is stored in various GCNC databases. The various instances where business contact information will be required include:

  1. While the Blueprint site displays the content of the Blueprint report in web format, the Blueprint report and Maturity Model will also be available for download in PDF format. To access this, users will be required to provide the following business contact information: email-address, name, company, title, and role as well as non-personally identifiable information such as industry, organization type, and number of employees.
  2. In order to use the interactive Maturity Model platform and access results, among others, visitors are required to provide the following business contact information: email-address, name, role, and department and non-personally identifiable information such as industry and company size.
  3. If you choose to contact us through our Contact Form for any reason, you will be asked to provide the following business contact information: email-address, name, and company.

Use of cookies

Cookies are small pieces of data stored on your computer by the web browser while browsing a website.  The Blueprint site uses cookies to remember you the next time you visit the site, allowing us to not have to ask questions that you may have already answered (such as your email address).

If your browser permits, you are free to decline our cookies. However, your experience of our site may be limited. You may not be able to use certain features on the site, and you may be required to re-enter information more frequently to use certain services on the site.


WHAT DOES GCNC DO WITH THE INFORMATION IT COLLECTS?

Website usage information

The information gathered while you browse the Blueprint site is used to analyze trends and usage of the Blueprint site and to improve the usefulness of the site. In the event  that you have registered with GCNC on the Blueprint site, the information we collect about your web usage may be linked to you.

Personally identifiable information

GCNC may use the information you provide to:

  • Contact you in response to a query or comment, or to email you Canadian sustainability news, event or webinar invitations, and other resource downloads, among others;
  • Confirm your registration on the Blueprint site to create an account;
  • Retain your online profile details and preferences for visits to the Blueprint site in the future;
  • We may also plug in your information into Salesforce, a customer relationship management platform, which is accessible to UN Global Compact;
  • Help you find information that is relevant to you based on your interests more quickly, and help us optimize our site content to make it more relevant to you;
  • Undertake statistical analysis.


WHAT IF I DON’T WANT TO PROVIDE PERSONAL INFORMATION?

Providing your personal information on the Blueprint site is optional. If you choose not to provide your personal information, you can still browse and use the Blueprint site, but you will not be able to carry out certain actions such as creating an account or download GCNC resources and publications.

Opting out and changing your information

If you would like to cancel or modify your information, you may log into your Maturity Model account and change or delete your information.

If you have chosen to receive communications such as newsletters and other information from GCNC on the Blueprint site, you can unsubscribe to newsletters by clicking the unsubscribe button at the end of the emails or by contacting us at network@unglobalcompact.ca.

If you have provided your information to access the download of an original GCNC PDF file and would like to delete such information, you must contact Global Compact Network Canada at network@unglobalcompact.ca to have your information deleted from our databases.


SHARING YOUR INFORMATION

We may share information collected by the site as permitted by law, and in the following circumstances: (i) some user information collected by us may be shared with third party service providers, our partners and other Global Compact local networks so that the Global Compact can respond to your needs and inquiries, (ii) we may share information collected for legal reasons, as may be appropriate in order to comply with applicable law, jurisdictional process, court order, or other legal requests, and (iii) to establish and exercise our rights, defend against any legal claims, or prevent or take legal actions against possible illegal activities or violations of our policies.

Some of our service providers, partners and other Global Compact local networks may be located outside of Canada, and the information collected by the Blueprint site may be shared with these entities. While your information is in another jurisdiction, it may be subject to the laws of that jurisdiction, and these laws may be different than the laws in Canada.


SECURITY

We use industry standards for protection of the information we collect and use appropriate security safeguards.  We will keep the information collected by the Blueprint site for a period of time as long as necessary to fulfil the purpose for which the information was originally collected, or as may be necessary pursuant to applicable law.

Your Rights:

You have certain rights with respect to your Personal Information, including (i) the right to access any Personal Information that we hold about you; (ii) correct, update, and amend any Personal Information that we hold about you, and (iii) withdraw your consent, so that we no longer process Personal Information in ways that you previously consented to.

The views expressed in the report and Blueprint site are not necessarily shared by the United Nations (including United Nations Global Compact), Global Compact Network Canada, the participating companies, advisory partners, or the Department for Women and Gender Equality Canada.

The Blueprint site contains hyperlinks to third-party websites that are external to the Blueprint site and GCNC domain. Clicking on these links may lead to  third-party websites that collect or share your information. GCNC is not responsible for those sites including their privacy practices or the content of their websites. We encourage you to read the privacy policy of each website you visit.

All information provided using third-party sources on the Blueprint site are taken from their original source and referenced to as such.


NOTIFICATION OF CHANGES

GCNC reserves the right to change this Policy at any time. All changes will be posted to this page in a timely manner so that visitors are always aware of what information is collected and how it is used.
